Murgab – Bartang
Murgab crosses the Pamirs from East to West, and changes its name to Bartang after big lake Sarez formed by a gigantic natural dam. This is the most convenient itinerary. Access - easy. The river is WW class 4 - big and bouncy, and very remote.

Tanymas, Kudara
Difficult and remote, access is by road to Kudara only. Tanymas is a big tributary to Kudara.
Somebody was there, but I have no information.

Gunt
WW class 4-5, the volume is big. There are a couple of waterfalls. Access easy, the river is followed by a road, in a fairly populated valley. Plenty of flat stretches. the most interesting part is possibly the section from the waterfalls all the way down past the dam in Khorog.

Shakhdara
Good kayaking WW class 4-5. Access is easy. It is possibly not worth to drive all the way up, as the waterfalls need to have a solid flow (august) to be of interest. The section above the falls (roughly 1km) looks like a suicide commando in high water and isn’t really worth the climbing and abseiling action to the put in. The lower section offers great whitewater all the way down to Kharog.

Jazgulem
WW 4 all the way with 2 gorges of higher difficulty. It is possibly not worth it to put in higher then djamak (roadhead), as it will take you another 2 days of walking to reach a WW 3-4 section. It is a beautiful valley though and you might just add the time. Donkeys are available in the village but the prices seemed horrendous.

Vanch
It is not worth to drive up the river. Only if you are there in mid august and are looking for a long and easy flush down. WW2-3

Balankiik and Muksu
Classic extreme itinerary for crazies. I am still trying to go up there and will feed some informations once done.

Obihingoo
Not exactly in the Pamirs - first valley to the North. Access - easy, but the region is very politically unstable: the center of Tadjik opposition. It is a very sad fact, since the river is worth going. It is enormously big and very difficult, especially in its lower canyon. We were on this river in the spring 1993 before Tadjik war, it had too much water; after we were robbed in Tavildara (war epicenter one year later) we quit the river. After that we kayaked Varzob
near Dushanbe - much nicer river and did a trek in the vicinity. Everything was very interesting and exotic.

Cost includes all Guide, Accommodation, Transport and Food cost during the Expedition time.
