Mountaineering

The Nepal Himalaya offer a wide variety of different types of mountain to climb, from ‘trekking’ peaks; some of which are little more than snow hills requiring little or no technical mountaineering experience, to the Himalayan 8000m giants.

We offer a large range of services to our clients, in fact everything from a single client wishing to climb a trekking peak, to fully supported mountaineering expeditions. You just pick your mountain and we take care of the rest.

For beginners, we run a training school, where we teach you the mountaineering techniques you require to reach the summit of a Himalayan mountain. We normally run this school on the Khumbu Glacier, and the course culminates with a summit bid on the trekking peak, Lobuje East (6119m\ 20,075ft). However, we are quite flexible with this so should you wish to climb a different mountain, this can also be arranged.

The Trekking Peaks

The trekking peaks of Nepal provide a wide range of difficulty and are situated throughout the country. We have included a list of the designated peaks for your reference, each with a brief description.

Annapurna Himal

Hiunchuli (6441m\ 20,771ft) – technically challenging, with significant avalanche\ice-fall dangers, route-finding can pose a problem.

Mardi Himal (5555m\ 18,255ft) – rarely climbed peak offering little technical difficulty, route finding is awkward.

Singu Chuli (Fluted Peak) (6501m\ 21,328ft) – many routes to choose from, most of which are technically demanding.

Tharpu Chuli (Tent Peak) (5500m\ 18,045ft) – several technically straightforward routes.

Ganesh Himal

Paldor Peak (5928m\ 19,450ft) – some technical interest, 10 day trek to base camp.

Langtang Himal

Manang Himal

Chulu East (6584m\ 21,727ft) – mildly exposed route, not technically demanding.

Chulu West (6419m\ 21,182ft) – technically difficult both up and down!

Pisang Peak (6091m\ 20,100ft) – well-defined ridge offers a steep but technically simple route.

Khumbu Region

Imjatse (Island Peak) (6189m\ 20,305ft) – technically undemanding, some steep snow and ice, a lovely setting.

Khongma Tse (Mera Peak) (5820m\ 19,206ft) – plenty of scope for exploratory climbing!

Kusum Kangru (6367m\ 20,896ft) – a very serious mountain.

Kwangde (6187m\ 20,298ft) – steep and exposed climbing, technically difficult.

Lobuje East (6119m\ 20,075ft) – various routes offering a range of difficulty, crevasses can be a problem.
