An EXPEDITION for the INTERMEDIATE Kayaker on the best India has to offer.

India has most of the Himalayan range at its northern borders and plenty of its rivers are still unexplored or hardly visited. Shiva outdoors has not spared any expenses to uncover the rivers hidden in the deep valleys of Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal , Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh to the heights of Ladakh. This itinerary only covers the rivers of Uttaranchal but already gives you more then 2 weeks of whitewater.

Come and travel with us through India to the holy river Ganges and famous Rishikesh up to the highest peaks Indias and down the famous rivers there.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Delhi , transfer to Hotel, equipment check and briefing. Stay at Hotel. Sightseeing to Old Delhi and the Red Fort.

Day 2
Early morning train to Haridwar (4hr). Drive to Campsite and kayak on Ganges River (III).

Day 3
Drive to Baghirathi River (III-IV). Plenty of nice Whitewater with good surfing nearby.Camp.

Day 4
Our main rapid on this river can become a grade V in higher flows. Scouting is mandatory and many will find this the challenging highlight. More surfing can be done all the way to (IV-V). Drive to the tons. Camp.

Day 5
The tons will give us some fun runs in the upper reaches to get used to the more challenging middle part of the river. Grade III. Camp.

Day 6
After an easy start the river picks up and plenty of grade IV sections are going to give fun. Camp.

Day 7
A big rapid around lunch time will give us time to scout and enter the hardest part of the tons. Camp.

Day 8
Plenty of whitewater in any ranges are to be had and the day won't be boring.

Day 9
We will have time to chill on our run out to the lake created by the large dam downstream. Drive to Campsite on the Ganges . Camp.

Day 10
A relaxed start and we will do a final run down the Ganges to rinse our bodies and have some nice surf. Or just relax at this great campsite, visit the holy city of Rishikesh and some of their yogis. Camp

Day 11
Take the train back to Delhi , transfer to Agra . Hotel.

Days 12
Visit one of the World Wonders, the Taj Mahal. A great site. Drive to Fathepur Sigri, an abandoned city from medieval times in excellent conditions. Transfer to Delhi . Stay Hotel.
